Migrating to Sky Pilot from another digital downloads app

When Migrating over to Sky Pilot, there are a few steps you need to take to ensure a smooth transition between your digital downloads app.

Important note before starting this migration: please ensure:

1. your digital products are setup in Sky Pilot (meaning you attached all files to products first)
2. you have not uninstalled your previous Digital Downloads app.

Once Sky Pilot is installed, and once all content is attached to desired options, follow the steps below to ensure all your customers can download it properly:

1. Launch the app and head over to Settings > Checkout and Integration > Shopify Order integration

2. Select Import previous orders

When you import previous orders, Sky Pilot generates a download link for your “old” customers. They won’t automatically know about this unless you send them the link.

If you want to notify them, go to Products, select a product, and click Notify Past Purchasers. This will send an email to everyone who purchased that product with the new download link.

Alternatively, you can add a My Files button to the customer account page so they can log in and access all their files.

3. Check the downloads URL path is correct by heading over to your Shopify admin and to Settings > Apps and Sales channel

4. Choose Sky Pilot and go to App Proxy

5. Double-check that the URL ends as .myshopify.com/apps/downloads

Note: Please make sure that you do not have other digital downloads app on the same proxy URL otherwise this will not work. If you do have another URL that is the same, edit the other first by adding -1 to the URL.

E.g .myshopify.com/apps/download-1 (The number 1 can be replaced with any numeric value)
