How do I add DNS info from Sky Pilot to my email provider?

To use a custom sender email with Sky Pilot, you need to verify your domain by adding DNS records provided inside the app. This ensures that emails sent from Sky Pilot (such as download emails) are properly authenticated and delivered reliably to your customers.

Before you begin, make sure your store is on a Starter plan or any paid plan, as custom sender email functionality is not available on the Free plan.

To set it up:

  • First, make sure your store is on Starter (or any paid plan), as custom sender email is not available on the Free plan.
  • 2. In Sky Pilot, go to Settings → Emails and Security.
  • 3. Enter the email you want to send from (must be @yourdomain.com, not Gmail/Outlook/etc.) and click Verify.
  • 4. Sky Pilot will display two DNS records that need to be added to your domain’s DNS.
  • 5. Log into your domain provider (GoDaddy, Shopify Domains, Google Domains, Cloudflare, etc.).
  • 6. Go to DNS Management → click Add Record → copy/paste both records exactly as shown in Sky Pilot.
  • 7. Save your changes.

Note: DNS updates are not always instant — verification may take up to 48 hours depending on the provider.

If it hasn’t verified after that time, or you’re not sure the records are correct, just reach out and we’ll help check.
